Varzina Trout Tented Camp


  • Catch and release fly fishing only. Pools are daily rotated according to daily schedule.
  • Brown trout, Brook trout, Atlantic Salmon, Sea Trout, Arctic char, Pike.
  • Camp operates July – September. Trip starts from Murmansk, length of trip: 7 days and 7 nights, number of rods available: 10 rods.
  • Overnights in tents (194 sq.ft) with wood stove and wooden floor and beds for 2-3 persons in each. 3 meals per day (breakfast and dinner + lunch at riverside while fishing). There is also a sauna with showers and electricity.
  • Staff: Camp manager, chef, senior guide and other staff.

Program schedule

  • Starting day of the trip: Thursday. Meet & greet by Varzina staff at Murmansk airport (more exact time for this will be announced in February-March 2009).
  • Minibus transfer Murmansk – Lovozero village (3 hours) and helicopter transfer (35 minutes) from Lovozero to Trout Tented Camp. Dinner on arrival to the camp.
  • Friday – Wednesday: Fishing on Varzina river from “First Rapids pool” till “S-bend pool” and nearby lakes excluding “Varzina House” pool. Download poolmap (pdf, ~500 kb).

  • Thursday on return: Breakfast, helicopter transfer Trout Tented Camp – Lovozero village (35 minutes), minibus transfer Lovozero – Murmansk airport (3 hours).
