Safety issues

With helicopters the one rule that must always be observed, is that you never go around the helicopter from the back. Always wear hearing protectors while on board. The camp is equipped with a satellite mobile phone to be used in case of emergency and some radios which enables to have direct contact between the Trout camp and Varzina Main Lodge, where the home base for the helicopter is situated.

The instructor carries first aid kit suitable for treating such minor injuries as cuts and bruises. There is a Russian ER trained doctor at the Main Lodge most of the season. In emergency cases clients are transported by helicopter to Murmansk hospital for further treatment. You will need to pay an additional Emergency Medical Evacuation charge (from camp to Murmansk) above your trip price to cover possible extra emergency flight. This can be invoiced together with your trip payment. Do not go wandering off on your own without informing guide or the camp staff about where you are going and when planning to return.
